
Ice protest, 6.10.25

My camera gives me a certain power: with my bike and unmasked face I can weave in and out of protestors and police alike. Only once during this two-hour protest was I asked to keep it moving; and only once was I told to stop taking pictures.
Grant it, the police were aggressive, yelled at me, and threatened me—so of course there are limits. Please know, everything you see is pretext to the police beating, assaulting, and arresting 19 protestors. My camera died right before, so I do not have those photos.
This series is documenting one protest out of the thousands that have been against the current deportation efforts by the Trump administration. Horrendous by nature, I collected 61 shots. Unlike other series, I wanted to put every shot I had, not just those I deemed good.
We need to watch.
