About Me
There are so many things to see that our eyes don’t focus on. My goal is to try and take those pictures.
I was born in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, and gained a clear interest in politics and people——the latter helped by my mom, a social worker. I started working on political campaigns and volunteering with local Philadelphia organizations which gave me an appreciation for detail. I then moved to DC to attend American University (where I didn’t even bring my camera!).
Only my junior year, when I studied abroad in Chile, did I begin to take it seriously. There, I began to shoot wildlife, landscapes, and portraits with an eye for the same detail I saw for humanity. When I returned and graduated, I began a job as a political photographer and started focusing on detailed-shooting.
Detailed-shooting isn’t so much a style of photography as it is an idea: I aim to capture moments, emotions, and everything in between of what we tend to see.
I use an OM-DM1 with (mainly) a 17mm and 300mm lens.
